high strength material and low weight ,,,,for sussea pipelines in deep waters

The use of high strength materials with low weight ( high strength to weight ratio) for offshore pipelines in deeper waters are desirable, as they require less tension during installation in deep waters.
Does any Design Engineer have any information of any such materials, so that I can use it in my thesis (MSc offshore pipeline). I would really appreciate it.
