Hi Ali
if there has been negligible loss of wall thickness then you should be OK to
grit blast. If you are concerned about surface profile causing a crack, then
consider shot blasting which tends to improve surface properties.

Subject: [PipingDesign] Internal of vessel
Hi,
Does this group also discuss the pressure vessels issues ? if yes ..... then
we have a slug catcher and it has been in service for 6 years since last
internal inspection, the issue is that it was found superficially corroded
internally and no wall thickness reduction was recorded when UT examined ,
and this vessel came originally bare ! .. so could I recommend for grit
blasting because I'm in the to consult our integrity or engineering
departments.
any one can advise please.
Regards,
Ali
