entry
Good day Sajit,
Normally the knock out drum,Horizontal,Vertical,or Cyclone type ,and the choice depends on your system capacity and expected liquid entrainment.etc API RP 521 covers this topic..and is the main reference..
Regards,
Waiel hasan
Is the pressure at the tip estimated to calculate the stress in the pipe. Is not the analysis done based on the operating pressure of the flare system?

Subject: [Man.Distr][PipingDesign] Pressure drop at vessel entry
Dear friends,
We are working on stress analysis of flare gas lines.
Actually, before entry into the flare stack, gas has
to pass through the knockout drum (to separate
condensate). We would like to calculate the expected
pressure drop, to enable us to estimate the expected
pressure at the tipe of flare stack.
Can any body suggest any reference book or some
methods?
Thanks
shiva
