Is there any possibility of pulsations in the flow? If you have a
centrifugal pump, either type of check should be acceptable. But if you
have a pulsating type flow or pump, the ball check may pound on its seat,
and can amplify the pulsations, set up piping vibration or damage the check
ball or seat. Disc type of check is not as sensitive to pulsations.
