The normal practice in Siemens is ... 22D upstream, and 7D downstream. There could be some exceptions.

That is my practice. I also usually throw in specialty chem, because it's the same size/scale.

Question for you: should the pharmaceutical, food and semiconductor industries (related to piping) be grouped together? All require extreme cleanliness, use SS and typically smaller bore piping is used.
