Dissimilar metals joints?

All:

I'm working on a project that is replacing a portion of flanged ductile iron pipe in order to install a flowmeter.

There will be a threaded connection for a 1" copper water pipe in the new ductile iron pipe. (and some instrument connections). The current system uses a saddle tap. I have not been able to find a DI to copper dielectric union - there are mostly steel to copper. An alternative is teflon tape on the threads, but if the tape degrades, the iron will corrode.

Do people thread PVC to ductile iron as a transition to copper? Is there a "normal" way to connect copper to DI?

Thanks for any input.
