Greetings all and best wishes for 2004.
I am sorry, this isn't just a social call: I have just started on a boiler refurbishment job for a refinery in Norway. The client has suggested that we use the new European code for design, although the plant was originally designed to ASME B31.1. I am naturally happy to oblige, but I am having problems identifying suitable analysis software. As far as I know, this is the current state of the major piping programs:
PSA5 have finished coding their EN13480 update and are writing the
manuals. Release scheduled for the end of January.
Caesar II - Version 4.50 released 11/03, EN13480 not listed in codes
supported
Autopipe - EN13480 not listed in codes supported
ADLPipe - EN13480 not listed in codes supported
Does anyone on this forum know of any other software that currently supports EN13480?
On a slightly related topic; IIRC Christopher mentioned that he would like to update one of the old programs to run on open source, ADLPipe was one of the suggestions. ADLPipe is still alive and well, currently owned by Research Engineers. I used it extensively from 1988 to 1995 for design of Sizewell B PWR. We had a version that ran on Unix, it was fast and flexible, certainly the easiest program I have used for MRSS and ASME III NB. I have also used Version 9.0 for Windows, which combined graphical input with the option to swap to text input at any time. It is currently at Version 10.0, which I have not used.
ADLPipe still runs on a variety of platforms:
Operating Systems
DOS
Windows 3.1/95/NT
Unix Workstations - HP9000/700, SUN/SPARC
VAX/VMS and Alpha/VMS
CRAY/UNICOS
IBM/MVS and IBM/VM

I hope that is of interest.
