"What your worst working environment?".

Any other funny personal experiences? Too embarrassed? Send to me    offlist and I'll post them anonymously.

   Yes, I have a few,
I was a Machinist Mate in the Navy. On one cruise to Africa the powers above me decided that the 4 stage High Pressure Air Compressor needed a rebuild. I was a Third Class PO at the time and got selected. There was not alot of repair work to be done out at sea (everything was running ) so this was sort of an honor to get this job except it was right next to the boiler on the steam drum deck. The Air temps in the area were 140 deg F or more. It was so hot I could only work for a while befor nearly passing out. This was befor Heat Stress monitering. I loved it though. Replaced 4 cylinder liners, most everything except the crank and rod bearings. It even worked when I got done.
