That is true, but I think you missed the point of the original question, which was a tricky one.
I don't know about the rest of you guys, but these type of questions are fascinating to me (then again, I Have No Life).
Why was 1/16" of an inch decided upon for raised face flanges? Who invented the short-radius elbow? What genius invented the butterfly valve? Who thought-up intelligent pigs? Orifice flange jackbolts? Eccentric and concentric reducers? Swagelok? The internet?
