Read _Founding Brothers_ by someone named Ellis. It'll give you a better
handle on what people really fought for after the gunplay was over. The
stories we get in school are stupid and boring by comparison with what
actually happened between people like Hamilton, Jefferson and Adams.
Makes you respect them even more and makes you realize how close run
things really were.
