Dear rommel,
Non metallic piping itself is a crucial subject and one need to go in to detailed requirements for this.
Generally it is used for handling Corrosive media and also for water application due to law cost.
Durability of such non-metallic piping e.g PVC,CPVC,PP,HDPE depends mainly on following factors.

1) Pipe line Supports at say every 1.5m distance(as per our plant pipings)
2) Bellows to be provided for thermal expansion of pipes
3) Welding technology i.e either by consumable electrodes (skill and

preciseness needed) or by cold welding as you mentioned (low precise job) 4) The type of collar you are using.i.e fabricated from plate or a long neck pipe end,in your case it may be supplied by the party. My suggestion is to check the fabrication peocess as in cold welding one should fit the male-female parts within minimum period of applying the adhesive solution and provide some external force for the period specified by manufacturer.
Also, you can strengthen the welding joint by applying FRP reinforcing from outside which will surely help you.

Dear All,

We are having a problem with our plant regarding the newly installed PVC pipes, we have encountered a lot of leaks from the joints, our current DI pressure is 80 psi.Can any one send me the procedure of PVC pipe installation, i know this problem is workmanship, they are using Weld-on as pipe cement for PVC joints.
