DEEPAK - My understanding is that for compliance with B31.3, all systems require a flexibility analysis unless the system duplicates a successfully operating system, can be judged adequate by comparison with previously analyzed system or are within the limits of Paragraph 319.4.1.

Subject: [PipingDesign] When Flexibility Analysis is Needed?

Dear All,

Can anybody tell us when Piping Flexibility Analysis is needed? I have referred B.31.3 & B31.1 (clause 319.4.1 & 119.7.1) but not reached any clear conclusion.

What are criteria involved for Piping Stress Analysis. Are there any minimum requirements to be considered while deciding for Flexibility Analysis?
