if you look at any boiler operating manual eg. Weil McCleans is a good
example
or at the tekmar literature for the control systems for such boilers there
is alwaysa
characteristic curve which defines the stop and start points for heating for
the summer winter cycles. A shallow curve indicates a slow heating system
with high thermal mass eg cast iron. a steep is quick trunaround lie a jetco
copper tube boiler and so on.
