Anticorrosive epoxy primer followed by a finish coat might solve your problem.

For exact details, visit web sites of paint manufacturers like 'Hempel, International or Jotun' and preferably refer this problem to their rep. for details like exact no of coats, thickness of coats ... etc.

Parallely, try to change the material spec of these springs for future procurement.
