Steve:
Digging through my musty trunks, I have a couple of sources: Standard Handbook of Lubrication Engineering, O'Connor & Boyd, McGraw-Hill Book Company - This is a typical college textbook, lots of good data, but short on specific cases. Also a book from the Gas Engineering and Operating Practices Series by the American Gas Association, Book T-2 Compressor Station Operations, ISBN 0-87257-000-2. This has a lot of good application information on gas engines/compressor stations in general, but has a good design layout for an engine lubrication system.

Although, when all is said and done, I have to admit that I do like most of us probably do - get the equipment manufacturer's recommended design, then start adapting it to the real world where the stuff is installed. Copy from an existing design if it is working - who was it said "If we are able to see further, it is because we are standing on the shoulders of giants"?

Peace on the Earth, Senor!

I asked if anyone could recommend a lube system design reference some
weeks ago.
Since then I have had a number of inquiries for lube systems
review/design.
I still cant find a decent book on the subject and have to rely on my
folders full of articles.
There are a lot of hydraulic power "manuals" around but they normally
have low quality information.
Tried Google & Amazon, but no luck.

Can anyone suggest another way of finding a decent book on the
subject?

Cheers

Steve
