can you tell us where the command is to tell isogen where to break. We have not been able to find this option.

we have been exporting selected pipes into A2 size , then shrinking down to fit into our a3 template

Otherwise isogen creates too many drawings with only too shorty little "pups" per dwg.
Not a great workaround. I like your "select the break points" , but where are the options/commands to do that.??

Also are you saying isogen will creat the welder flags for each weld for the weld mapping. I didnt know isogen would do that. I agree wait to the end , and we have done that separately & manually at end of generating isos.

There are nearly always 100 ways to do things is Isogen. A full featured 3d system should allow you to configure the file passed to Isogen to produce an Isometric drawing. First - Isogen features many ways to break up Isometrics.
- Let Isogen decide. If no start or break points are output then Isogen will
automatically break into multiple sheets based in the congestion in each drawing. This too can be controlled using the option switch to include more or less in each sheet. From the sound of your original post this is how it is done in your office. This in combination to using the iso and sheet number to name the piece mark is troublesome.

• Tell Isogen where to break. This is accomplished by outputing a start point and all break points within a pipeline.
• Don't break at all (force a set of components to one and only one sheet). Note that if a single start or break point is provided Isogen assumes it HAS ALL OF THEM and doesnt try to split sheets at all. In this way if a single break point is added to a system that would typically require 5 sheets you still get the two sheets. By specifying a start point on an Isogen output fole (either PCF or IDF) you aretelling Isogen that you do not want any sheet breaks other than the one you will provide within the file.

Spool numbering can be accomplished a few ways as well.
- Specify the spool number of each component. Isogen will use your spool
numbers and not assign them. You can also pass the same file to a spool Isogen style and get individual spool Iso sheets while you are at it.

• Let the spool numbers increment across multiple sheets. In this way you get (for example Spools A-F that span sheets 1,2,3) Its realy only a problem if you tell Isogen to restart the spool numbers with each sheet. This is controlled by an option in the switches file as well as the spool-prefix setting in the PCF file.
• specify sheet breaks at field joints (like flanges, field welds, or field provided (shipped loose) components).
