Yes, definitely flat faced CS flanges to flat face PVC flanges.

If you use raised face CS flanges, the PVC flange will crack.

we generally use flat faced carbon steel flanges with a full face soft gasket (rubber or teflon). a raised face flange puts too much strain on

the flat faced PVC flange. and it's hard to get a standard gasket to seal
with the PVC flange. the PVC isn't much harder than the gasket. we also
are sure to use bolt kits designed for PVC with oversize washers.
