Use a full-face spacer. Select from PTFE lined products catalog.

Subject: Re: [PipingDesign] CS flange connection TO CPVC pipe
Thomas Laupa,
I am gretafull for your kind suggestion.
My querry is we have lined pipe PTFE lined connecting to CPVC pipe with PVC
flange flat face with eastomeric gasket.
How can we engieer in place of PVC flange at the tie in connection with the
Carbon steel pipe PTFE lined. At tie in point flange connection upsteram side
will be PTFE CS flange connectiing to CS lined pipe however in the
downstream of tie in flange connection there will be CS PTFE lined flange
connecting the CPVC pipe.
How can we join this Carbon steel flange to CPVC pipe at tie in point. Is it
possible to join?Please advice
However we can join the PVC flange to CPVC pipe using solvent cement. But how
can we join CS flange to cpvc pie.
IThanks & Regards,
Md Danish
M Danish:
i understand that you are connecting lined CS pipe to CPVC Pipe. in my experience, lined pipe uses flanged connections, with the lining extruded thru the flange.
therefore, the mating face of the CS lined flange is the lining material itself. this approximates a flat faced flange.
to connect to a PVC flange, use a soft gasket and bolt kits designed for PVC with oversize washers.
