Thanks for the reply.

Wonder if you have any info from your maintenance to say that they do not have a problem with these valves in the bitumen service. I have a Shell DEP which says the following, Non-slam axial flow piston-type check valves are very reliable in clean service and have a low pressure drop These check valves shall not be used in fouling services due to the close tolerances of the moving parts.

I want to use them in this service. For a higher integrity reason, the process review has determined that they have valves of diffrent mechanical construction to be used in series.

we have/ are with vtb (very thick bitumen) which is a much nastier fouling version of crude
