Hello all..
This question is regarding steam tracing and jacketed
Lines. We are using steam at 4.2 bar(g)and somewhat
superheated with temp 163 C. for steam tracing and for
jacketed lines.. now the jacketed lines are of NPD 2"
with 1" jumpers. I am concern about the area of the
core pipe where steam from jumper will enter. As the
line size is changing from 2" to 1" there may be some
change in velocity and may be some reinforcing pad be
required for withstanding the erosion which otherwise
would have happen. how the designing be approached for
handling this type of situation.I have seen people do
use reinforcing pad for core pipes .any guidelines
regarding this would be appreciated. Also I would be
thankful if anybody have the saved articles posted at
pipingdesign regarding Process Tracing Lines, as the
related topics are removed from the external sites.
bye.
