could you explain the reason for providing straight lengh 5d u/s and 2d d/s of big dia check valves.

Dear Vaibhav,
There are some thumb rules for the installation of check vave. Check valves size larger than 3 inch to have 5D distance and down stream to have distnace of 2D.
