Too many organizations re-work their sites and do not provide proper redirects from the old URLs, even though it is a relatively easy thing to do.

Considering that Google and other major search engines rely on referring links as a primary method of results ranking, this omission is puzzling and can only be due to

1. ignorance of senior website management personnel
2. a "who cares?" attitude

I wonder which it is.
