RE: Pump''s Power Curve

The power curve on the datasheet of the pump refers to the power requirement at the pumpshaft.
The power requirement for the electric motor is obtained by dividing by the efficiencies of both the motor and the transmission. Frequency invertors and thyristor controllers for DC motors must be included.
The overall efficiency is also called "wire to water efficiency".

Example: kW at motor :56.94
                         Motor and tansmission efficiency:91.96%
                         kW at pumpshaft: 52.36

Dear all specialists,

Do you know whether the power curve for a pump is referring to the motor's power or pump's power needed ?

If I measured the incoming voltage and current to the motor, is there any formula to calculate the power as in the power curve ?

Please guide me.

Regards,
cckla
