Since a relief valve can be located anywhere in the pipeline to be
relieved of accidental pressure rise, an easier solution would be to
relocate the PSV itself and follow a more conventional installation. I
find it a general tendency amongst people to locate the PSV at the highest
point of a pipeline which is absolutely not necessary. PSV is not a
substitute of high point vent.
