frp is a very generic term. Fibreglass reinforced plastics come in a wide
(sorry ..huge) array of formulations with varying degrees of addititves,
binders and plastics. The vendor selling the pipe is the only one who can
properly specify what should be used with their pipe.
Use of another adhesive (and procedure) than the Vendor specifies would for obvious reasons void the warranty, but more significantly lead to a LOT of other serious problems. It is possible to find out the major active ingredients , its in the literature and many published books especially from ASM et al..
Even knowing the true and complete nature of the plastics involved is not
sraightfwd.. id tests are differentiated by the following;
grp1. Fluorine an chlorine containting
grp2 n2 containing
grp2 sulphur based polymers
grp 4 with heteratoms
But i don't see the point. Perhaps you can provide indication why you need to know this and it might be worth the effort
I for one have seen the damaging effects of ill informed substitutions ("this will do"). ie failure of joints.
Best course of action ; go to the net, look up the vendor, use their spec.
