Eccentric reducers are always used in horizontal lines. Reg. pump
suction, this is what I have been taught:
1) In horizontal pump suction lines, use eccentric reducers with flat
top unless the liquid is viscous. This is to prevent air getting
trapped.
2) With viscous liquids, use eccntric reducers with bottom flat to
prevent pocketing as pocketing ia apparently more critical than
trapped air, in such cases.
