My guess is that this depends on how the model of competition/capitalism is eventually interpreted and implemented in those places of the world.
A few posts ago I was somewhat chastised onlist for saying that we have the Americans to thank for the internet. Yes, Sir TB-L is a founder, but the concept wouldn't have gotten anywhere without the original DARPA effort. If you don't know what I'm talking about, look it up. And, yes, it was the Americans that got it going and provided the infrastructure for what we have today. I suppose they could have just kept it to themselves for their own advantage, but they didn't. The internet has changed the world and will continue to do so.
I now await flamage from people that disagree with me and over-exuberant "boo-yeah, IN-YOUR-FACE!" comments from the rah-rah, Homer Simpson crowd.
