Welcome back Barbara
is everyone a bit testy at the moment or is it just my highly refined
sensitivity? It the equinox here which means big winds, and big winds
mean bad tempers.
Personally I never trust my calculations, and always put my faith in
total strangers. I expect you do the same in the nuclear power industry.
That way I can never be at fault.
I noticed you all assume it is a carbon steel flange. Further I note you
provided mass when weight was clearly asked for.
Because this sort of thing is happening frequently, I googled "weights
of spectacle flanges" and got back
http://www.texasflange.com/Catalog.pdf . Elapsed time 30 seconds.Yes it
has weights of spectacle blinds. And yes I would check-calculate the
weight from the dimensions. I am a bit slack though; work out the plan
area in sqm, multiply by mm thickness and then multiply by 8, as 1 sqm
of steel 1mm thick weighs a bit less than 8kg (oops, now see what you
made me do) sorry 78.48N, Chris.
I do hope this group is not being used as a sort of free internet search service.
Better get back to working for a living.
Cheers
Steve

Hi Rathish,
Its fair enough that you have asked the question as requested and you have received two similar answers. Do you think that a calculation based on known dimensions and density is more trustworthy than a number somebody gave you on the internet? I know which option I would accept if I was checking your analysis!
