The only reason I originally asked is because we are dealing with pipe sizes larger than 36" diameter (up to 96") and someone had mentioned multiple shifts being required to complete buttwelds.
Normal process piping "rules of thumb" (for piping layout purposes) don't necessarily apply with piping this size.
For example, where do you buy a commercial 36"x24" 45 degree lateral in Sch. 60 normalized carbon steel for 1300psig GOX service at 200 degrees C? You can't. Before anyone freaks out, yes, Monel is being used where needed.
