The Isometric can be hand-marked up with the changes in "red", which forms the as-built mark up to update the 3D model.

How are the inevitable design changes (during erection) tracked? Does
the construction crew have their own 3D model that they can
mark-up/modify according to field changes?

As-builts seem to be gaining importance with the whole plant life cycle
solution.
