I have been handling the PDS administration ......both the PDS and PDMS
are powerful tools for Plant designing from the grassroot levels....these
systems can reduce the total engineering time drasticaly....and provide u
all the information that u need at the click of button.....u can have
clash checks....u can conduct design reviews and prepare drawings quickely
etc
But a cation ::: PDS is a very costly software.....also the person
handling this should be very competent and should have hands on experince
with the Database as well as of the project execution systems ....to
extract the real power of the system
my experience has beeen that PDS is much more powerful system as compered
to PDMS because of the beautiful oracle database upon which it is based
the reports and interfaces that can be made using it are very useful..
though PDMS is cheap as compared to PDS
