Dear Ganga,
I am not a person of the HEAT EXCHANGER business;
still, from what I had gathered, the difference lies
in the matter that corrugated tube is the one made out
of corrugated sheets. It increases the surface area
and hence the heat transfer rate. By the logic of
construction, it cannot be used for high pressures.
Finned tube utilizes the principle of embedding the
fins integrally with the exterior of the tube, thus
establishing good conduction enhanced with increased
surface area. There is no limit of applicability of
pressure. It solely depends on the core tube.
Hope this clarifies as a first round info. For details
ask the specialists.
Regards.
C. V. Gangadharan.
