Gents + 2
This question is more of an apology.
I have just been regaled by a consulting eng firm extolling the
virtues of their PDMS system and what it can do for one of my clients.
I need to know the system capability, advantages and shortcomings.
From a user perspective. No sales talk.
Will need to interface with an existing maintenance package and and
an existing accounting package. Does PDMS have interfacing suites?
Included as add-ons or is custom software required?
Is PDMS going to serve a useful purpose on an existing plant which
changes its configuration by about 15% in capex terms per annum?
Am just about to go through the agony of a DCS upgrade, but with
super competent help ( Microexcel over Yokogawa, 8 bit to 32/64 bit,
so its going to hurt anyway), so adding yet more embedded software is
not at the top of my favourites list at present.
Is there an easy way? Or should I just put it off until the DCS is up
and going?
Cheers
