Writing a article is a good idea, but it will take some time as there are some 140 attributes to be configured and hundreds of other things. In the mean time you can have a look at the sample isometrics generated by ISOGEN. The sample attached are purly automatic and no manual editing is done. Even the attributes are imported from Line-list.

Perhaps I have only seen poorly-extracted isometrics then, and some of them are acceptable. But others are absolutely ridiculous (too bad I can't provide an example - I'll see if I can find one next week).
Care to provide some tips on generating decent isos outputted by Isogen? I don't think I've ever seen a write-up on this and if you want to write a short article I'll feature it at the website.
