wheel spinning re: copper for High pressure relief vent piping

Yes, thats correct copper is not allowed under Sec 8 or sec 3 but is allowed under B31.3

  tble A-1B lists the following as acceptable

Copper and Copper Alloy

B 42 ...

B 43 ...

B 68 ...

B 75 ...

B 88 . . .

B 280 ...

B 466 . . .

B 467 ...

from memory at least 2 have type K designations.

  1. ASTM B 88 or B 75, Type K or L, annealed temper
  2. ASTM B 88 or B 75, Type K, L, or M, hard temper
  3. ASTM B 819, Type K or L, hard temper (not B31.3 permissable) d. ASTM B 306 Type DWV, hard temper(not B31.3 permissable).

The catch is that again the inquirer did not frame the question. Was the application even B31.3?

Copper is used in lots of other ANSI ASME stds as well as B31.3 eg fuel gas.
  ASME B31.5 - Refrigeration Piping;
   ASME B31.9 - Building Services Piping Copper Alloy Flare Fittings: ASME B16.26 DWV Drainage Fittings: ASME B16.23. & B16.29. to name a few

Trouble is he didnt bother to say, leaves everybody spinning their wheels guessing and furthermore, if its just a vent it can be open ended (in fact relief has to have no block valve), and so "high pressure" is even more of a misnomer. 100psi would be only to size the wt.

We're dead ending on this one i think (for the same old reason).
