Hi Jijoy...as far as I know..P&ID is a schematic diagram of the complete system
which tells u about the pressure, temp., pipe header sizes and specification of
other equipments. A piping layout diagram is something practical perseption of
pipe route, which depends more on plant layout and includes pipie elevation,
support details, sectional view etc. For making a complete BOQ of pipe n fitting
u will need a piping layotu dwg rather a P&ID. Still if u wanna make a layout
from P&ID first locate all the equipments in a map n try for tracing the optimum
route of pipe objectively.
