High Temperature pipe supports

Apart from what has been mentioned, for heavy pipes, use of low-friction pads and PTFE slide plates can help. It shall be ensured that the temperature in the vicinity of PTFE is less than around 200 Deg. C. Graphite slide plates are available. Another practice is to avoid direct welding of shoe or shoe pad on the pipe but to have a couple of clamps on the pipe and weld the shoe parts to the clamps. These standard practices are well documented in pipe support manufacturers' catalogs.
