If a process or power piping is an engineered system, then why leave it to the pipefitter? API 570 and 579 that deals with piping already in service is a technical document. It was meant for the engineers and designers and not pipefitter. Ensuring the mechanical integrity of the piping system is job best handled by a pro. Just a personal opinion.
