Re: Bentley View vs. SmartPlant Review

Hello Mr. Pawar,

It would be inappropriate to compare PDMS with Smart Plant Review (SPR).

PDMS is a 3D modeling tool with intelligent database, similar to Intergraph PDS (Plant Design System). (Which is superior? - PDS or PDMS, Lets leave it to Intergraph and Aviva to decide. It would be an endless debate.)

There is a module in PDS wherein you can generate a set of database+3D graphic, which you can view in SPR.

SPR is just a viewing tool, wherein you can carry out the design reviews. You cannot edit a line or equipment or cable route etc. in SPR, which in turn would reflect in PDS. Yes temperary for viewing purpose, you can do so in SPR.

SPR is an excellent tool and if you have hands on experience, it is easy to operate. A normal user in my opinion uses only about 5% of the features provided in SPR.

You need to buy SPR to carry out design reviews for the items modeled in PDS. There are other 3D model viewing softwares available in marked. like "Navisworks."

Just my views.

Regards.

hello

I think PDMS is better than both of these.

BV has an interface similar to PDS, which is nice.

One thing about SPR that is annoying is the lack of a zoom window function and it is not as intuitive (I find).

I looked for the videos you mentioned, do you know where they are?
