Chris,

Thanks for the advice however I am employed by the plant owner to do these modification and we want to save downtime. Actually, we will do UT on the affected buried and aboveground pipes to see whether the thickness is still sufficient as required by the codes however my concern really is during the hydrotest because I know that if we will reuse these pipes it will experience near SMYS hoop stress. I would appreciate your advice on these matter. In the meantime I would look it up in API 570.
