Dear All,
As you may all appreciate the Piping Estimation Work is as tedious and tricky as the Design of the Piping Systems. The most tedious part is arriving at the No of Welding Joints to be done (or as we call it the Inch-Dia Welding)
Can any one advise ratio of Inch Dia Welding to the Inch Meter for various plants. I find that the ratio varies widely from 0.7 (eg. Polyethylene Plants) to 1.4 (eg - Tank Terminal). Normally the estimation work is done at the very early stages of the Project and we do not generate the drawings to physically estimate. hence if there is a collection of the past data available for a price or otherwise, it will greatly help and serve as a guide for the Piping Estimators
