Quicker if you can get hold of Piping Engineering by Tube Turns Inc c1979 using the pressure/stress ratios table and the allowable stress values. The method is illustrated starting at page 18.
As an alternative an excel spreadsheet can easily be set up. But you will still need a copy of the B31 Piping Code and design properties of pipe. Basically you input the design formula from B31 to calc for the tm. Then given the corr allowance and mill tol, calc for tnom. Set up a lookup table using the pipe design properties and bingo, the wall thickness is found for the specific pipe size.
Note that in all the calc, its not the pressure "class" but rather the design pressure.
Nowadays everybody is crying supersize me â that means CII. And if you really want to shine hey go all the way with the dynamic/failure analysis using data taken on-line plus the lab result. And at the end of the day, who call the shot â none other but the pipefitter.
