Agreed. But even PDMS donot have a bulletproof system that will communicate/link its data seamlessly with other big time apps used in Process Safety/Engineering/Production/Maintenance such as those from Berwanger, SAP or Meridium to name a few. The data migration process is still tedious and time consuming – download, convert and used. And if the format is different (as it normally happens) then man you can just forget about it and youre back to the stone age – manual input and data redundancy.

Before give me a Tsquare, slide rule and a drafting board, will travel. Now, even this is no longer possible. Ah, technology - its driving you nuts.
