Spiral wound gasket with Flat face flange

Dear Friends

In our new project we are planning to repeat the existing plant layout/ PDS model. earlier we have used CAF gasket with AWWA std flange(flat face) in the water service.
Now, as the CAF gasket is not environment & Health friendly we are planing to replace it with Spiral wound graphile filled gasket keeping the flange as AWWA -C207 class D std - Flat face only, Serrated spiral finish

What you people suggest, what problem you envisage using this combination. Is any std says about this combination.
Pls note: AWWA says to use full face gasket, no where it is given that we can not use the Spiral wound gasket
