You may also want to consider fatigue analysis, surge analysis to determine the actual design pressure that you have selected a pipe for, the bending stresses based on how you will support the pipe, earthquake, wind, vibration, impact loads, concentrated loads, local buckling, corrosion, how the stuff is going to be joined together etc etc. Hey, you might want to become a piping engineer.

As an alternative an excel spreadsheet can easily be set up. But you will still need a copy of the B31 Piping Code and design properties of pipe. Basically you input the design formula from B31 to calc for the tm. Then given the corr allowance and mill tol, calc for tnom. Set up a lookup table using the pipe design properties and bingo, the wall thickness is found for the specific pipe size.

Note that in all the calc, its not the pressure "class" but rather the design pressure.

Nowadays everybody is crying supersize me – that means CII. And if you really want to shine hey go all the way with the dynamic/failure analysis using data taken on-line plus the lab result. And at the end of the day, who call the shot – none other but the pipefitter.
