FYI--
If you are following this newsgroup and thinking about subscribing or if you've tried subscribing and been denied, please note that you'll need to fill out a Yahoo profile before I'll accept your subscription. If you don't fill out a profile you'll be denied membership until you do. This isn't personal--just our way of knowing who we're all talking to.

If you don't already have a Yahoo account, get one. You'll need it to manage your subscription and access the list archives. Then click on 'My Yahoo' and then 'Edit/Create Profile.' The information you entered to get your account isn't public, so you need to jump through one more hoop and make a profile. It'll take about 5 minutes.

Your yahoo public profile must include the following--
-----Your real name as the the Real Name entry
-----Your corporate affiliation (or university) and city in the
Location entry
-----Your job function as the Occupation entry.

If you free-lance, you can use the name of your most recent client, your contract agency or just note that you're a contract designer or engineer for corporate alffiliation.

Here's a fictitious example:

Real Name Samuel Spade
Nickname Sam
Location Ft Mudge Pipe Works, Soft Landing, Mississippi USA
Age (not required)
Gender (not required)
Marital Status (not required
Occupation Stress analyst

Don't forget to add your name and location (and occupation if you like) to each post you make to the list, or the post may not appear. This is a matter of etiquette--like introducing yourself when you telephone someone.

Don't forget that the list expects contributions as well as questions. The list is for people who are actually in the piping engineering or design business, so If you're an engineer or designer this is the place. If you're not and you make posts that appear to be off-topic or inane, you'll probably get flamed or even dropped from the list.
