Why does you letter give me an impression that you are quite new to the job, just off the college (a very good institute I guess) & your seniors think that you are a bit of brat ?
'Serving for last 15 years in industries in India, I am quite familiar with this sort approach by insecure senior people in someplaces.
To travel long distances in your career, you need both legs, one of knowledge and the other of real field experiences. You can not substitute field experience with any thing.
Internet will not help you. And if you insist on internet only to substitute field experience, I am afraid, you will soon acquire a nick name of "desk pundit" or something to that effect & your reputation will be affected.
In Indian industries, everyone likes someone who comes often to the field and mingles with working group.
