Do you have any qualifications as a mechanical engineer? One would expect that as an engineer you would understand the requirements of deflection, stress, strain, buckling, vibration, wind/earthquake loads on mechanical items.The basics of statics will be a good startt for you then comes the requirements for dynamics.
If you dont understand what is on the Internet then your grounding in matters engineering does not qualify you to undertake piping enginnering. I suggest you wortk with your friends and pick their brains, read their books and standards and come back in a few years. If your friends dont have these resources choose other friends.
