Check BP for Piping philosphy and standards. Shell DEPs definetly gives
guidelines about using them (rather I will say advising not using it :) ).
Threaded connectins are not applied with H2S and corrosive services even SW are
not permitted. They should be used for utility services and low pressure
systems. As there are always chance of leak through them.
Normally they are found in instrument/piping inteface in process plant.
Check Norsok standards/guidelines for piping at web, you may get some
guidelines.

Dear Fellows ;
Any idea what Int'l Code or Regulation that covers limitation of threaded piping in HC service (not the ASME B 31.3, since this still allows for some circumstances) . I meant the higher requirement that restrict threaded connection in HC service.
They preferably applicable Internationaly such API, ISO, OSHA, etc. But UKOOA,BS, EN, NORSOK also considerable.
