Dear All,

   Project: Naptha Cracker.
   Service: Very High Pressure Steam
   Design Pressure: 135 kg/cm2
   Design Temp: 540 deg.C

9Cr material (ASTM A335-P91) is the most suitable material for this design conditions & service. But 9Cr material is not easily available in the material & if available it will be with long delivery.

   For Instrument connection

Please let me know the following,

Instead of 9Cr material can we use SS304.     If SS304 is acceptable then there may be thickness difference between 9Cr pipe & SS304 pipe. 1:3 taper is the acceptable ratio but if this ratio does meet the requirement then what is the solution.

Is welding possible between 9Cr & SS304, if possible then how. Which welding process, method & welding rod.

Thank you in advance for the suggestion.

   Best Regards
